Watch out, Berkshires! The best stores to shop on Black Friday
It’s almost here, Berkshire County! The dilemma faced by millions of holiday shoppers each year. Black Friday. So many offers and only one day to take full advantage of them.
What are you doing? Where are you going??? Just visited 1, 2, maybe 3 stores and trying to get as many deals as possible in a small area? Or do you travel great distances and visit as many stores as possible to get the best deals only to realize that the money you saved ended up being spent on gas to fill up after driving all over the place hell and come back?
I have good news ! The people at WalletHub, the personal finance experts, went out to try and make it easier for us happy and eager holiday shoppers. The WalletHub team (man, I love these people!) just released their report regarding The best places to shop in 2022 during Black Friday!
And, let me tell you, it wasn’t easy to find the results. Wallet Hub’s team looked at nearly 4,000 deals from Black Friday ad scans of America’s 16 largest retailers to identify stores with the biggest deals in certain categories such as toys, jewelry, appliances appliances, computers, clothing, etc.
And based on the highest percentage reduction, they got the results. So, without further ado, here are those from WalletHub Best places to shop on Black Friday 2022 from bottom to top:
Ranked #10 is America’s favorite place to meet all of its home improvement needs, the Home depositwith a discount rate of nearly 31%.
Then at #9:
Sports + Outdoors Academy is a sporting goods store that I don’t know myself, but if you’re looking for sporting goods and clothing, or gear for hunting, fishing and/or camping, this is it to shop. Based in San Antonio, Texas, but they have offices across the country. They have a Black Friday discount rate of 31%.
Ranked #8 with a discount rate of nearly 33%:
It’s true. Big savings can be found this Black Friday at Big prizes! By the way, here’s something to keep in mind. If you’re shopping for furniture, whether at Big Lots or elsewhere, the WalletHub study found that the “furniture” category has the smallest share of discounted items at 3.73%. In comparison, the “apparel and accessories” category has one of the highest shares of discounted items at 21.09%.
Slip to spot #7:
Everyone LOVES to shop at Target! The hugely popular department store has a Black Friday discount rate of almost 33%, slightly higher than Big Lots.
Almost halfway, folks. The 6th best place to shop on Black Friday for 2022 is:
Again, another company I don’t know about (apparently I need to do more shopping!), Lenovo is one of the best places to buy personal computers, electronics, software, and more. They have a discount rate of (note the jump) almost 41%!
Now we are halfway there. With a discount rate of over 44%, the #5 ranked store is (here’s a hint) now a local favorite:
With a brand new Kohls mini-store open on Pittsfield Road, Lenox, you can keep more of your shopping confined to Berkshire County!
The next step to #4 with a Black Friday discount rate of just under 50% is:
Office deposit and OfficeMax continue to be one of the top places in the country to purchase office supplies, office furniture, electronics, and more.
We have circled and headed home. The 3rd best place to shop on Black Friday 2022 is:
With a discount rate of 53.05%, Macy’s continues to show why they are one of America’s favorite department stores!
WalletHub’s finalist for the best places to shop on Black Friday this year is:
Belk(a store I know but have never visited) is #2 with a Black Friday discount rate of 64.23%. It’s quite huge! However, as far as I know, there are no Belk stores in New England. Or even New York, for that matter. They do, however, have several locations in Maryland and Virginia.
We finally did. According to the WalletHub study, this is the best place to shop on Black Friday this year (just ahead of Belk):
JC Penney benefits from a discount rate of 64.71%! Like I said, they just beat Belk 64.23%. The Penneys have been around forever, and if they continue to offer great savings, they’ll be around a bit longer.
