Woman Discovers Surprising Product Cleans Grout Without Scrubbing After Accidental Spill
A TikToker has revealed that a cleaner typically used in the kitchen is so good at cleaning grout that you don’t even have to scrub.
Azure MacCannell, who goes by the @livecomposed handle on TikTok, found Healthier Home brand degreaser working on her tiled floor after an accidental spill.
She showed how well he cleans his grout in a TikTok video that went viral with 3.5 million views.

To use the degreaser as a cleanser, Azure said she “poured it on. Let it sit for a minute and wipe it off.”
The cleaning and organization guru used a mop to wipe up the product after applying it to the floor.
The Azure cleanup tip has been liked 156,000 times and sparked a lot of discussion in the comments section of the video.
Two viewers revealed that using a degreaser as a grout cleaner is a well-known cleaning secret in a particular industry.
“Fast food places add degreaser to their mops all the time. It works,” one TikToker said.
Another added: “My fiancé is a cook so we use a degreaser when we clean our floors because he ends up in the house at night when he comes downstairs [work].”

If you can’t get your hands on Healthier Home’s degreaser, which doesn’t appear to ship to Australia, another follower insists that other degreasers will work just as well.
They also offered a clue as to why the degreaser is effective on grout.
“Any degreaser will work. Most of what darkens your grout…is foot oils, dirt, skin cells and you as a whole,” they commented.

But as with all the cleaning tips you see on TikTok, you might want to test your degreaser on a small spot first, in case it doesn’t work for your floors.
It is also best to read the information on the back of the product, in case it is not safe to use it on particular materials.
“Be careful though, over time the cement holding the tiles together may start to break through.. regretted doing it after a while,” one person wrote.
“Yes, it works temporarily, but it takes the wax finish off the tiles and generally erodes the stone over time. I learned that the hard way at work,” said another.
If you don’t like the idea of using a degreaser to clean tile grout, there were other cleaning suggestions in the comments.
“I use OxiClean on mine. It works like a charm,” one follower said.
“Vinegar works best and isn’t harmful,” another suggested.

However, it might be best to avoid another TikTok hack that recommends toilet bowl cleaner for tile grout. Some of the people who watched Azure’s video suggested it, but Azure said they tried it themselves and it didn’t end well.
“DON’T GUYS!! I ruined a huge chunk of my grout doing this! Do a spot test first,” she said.
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that not all grouts are created equal. What works for yours might destroy another.”
